Metalin is an eco-friendly microbial pesticide. It consists of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae that infects the pests that come in contact with it. Once the spores of the fungus attach to the surface of the pests, they germinate and begin to grow. Then they penetrate the exoskeleton of the insect and start to grow rapidly inside the pest, thereby causing the pest to die. Other pests that come in contact with the infected pest also become infected with the fungus.
